CHAPTER ONE: A fateful encounter Terra was a bastard child, born of a peasant woman that lived in a village beyond the castle gate. When her village was massacred by a neighboring country wanting to overthrow the monarchy, Terra came in search of her father who just happened to be the king of her country, Markovia. However, the king was less than thrilled to have her there to begin with. Having an affair with another woman as a royal man or woman was considered treasonous in Markovia, so he was terrified and paranoid of Terra, wanting nothing to do with her. He kept her a secret from most of the castle residents and allowed his vassals any form of abuse they wanted to inflict on her. He even kept her from learning any politics or royal affairs of the state. Thanks to her older brother, Brion's, valiant efforts however, their father and the corrupted government that allowed this treachery were overthrown and he made all aware of Terra.
